First off I thought I should try some new tread out. I have had the Maxxis Advantage tires on my El Guapo for a long while now. I absolutely love them, but I thought what the hell, I'll try some new tires. So, I slapped some Scwalbe Fat Albert 2.4 on.
The rear 2.4 lookin' pretty good, no?
The front 2.4. Looks backwards? It's not, which I thought was weird.
So, I climbed up the front side of Hall Ranch. The tires really stuck on the rocks and roots. Not really spinning out on anything. I did notice they were a little low in profile and I was striking a lot more rocks than I would with the Advantage. Over all pretty good going up hill. I got to the top of the rock garden and started going down to the junction. This is where things were not so good. Cornering not so good in loose stuff, which as everyone knows you get a lot of sandy gravel on trails on the front range. The Advantage never had a problem with this.
I'm going back to the Advantage tires. They are just that good.
These tires would be great in more loamy conditions like in Crested Butte or anywhere in the mountains, down here not so much.
On to another review..........
Fox Sergeant Short 09.
These are probably my most favorite riding shorts of all time! A removable liner, well thought out pockets, cotton shell and best of all a removable sunglass wipe! That rules dude. Yeah I love these things, can you tell?
Oh yeah, we are getting an IBIS MOJO in to demo! What do you think about that? Huh? Well whatayathink? Yeah that's right.
